Vietnam-Hungary Advance Judicial AI Cooperation While Australian Gas Stations Combat Fuel Theft with AI
Vietnam-Hungary Exchange Experiences on Judicial AI Utilization
Vietnam and Hungary are advancing cooperation on applying artificial intelligence (AI) in their judicial systems. An academic seminar held in Hungary on April 16 brought together Vietnamese and European experts to share experiences on using AI to enhance judicial efficiency and transparency. Vietnam is actively pursuing scientific and technological innovation and national digital transformation under Politburo Resolution No. 57, recognizing AI as a core technology for the judicial sector. The workshop emphasized the need for establishing appropriate legal frameworks and ethical standards to balance technological innovation and human rights protection.
Australian Gas Stations Strengthen Crackdown on Fuel Theft with AI
In Australia, as fuel theft incidents increase amid the ongoing fuel crisis, the adoption of AI-based vehicle license plate recognition system, Scancam, is expanding. Developed by SenSen.AI, Scancam identifies license plates when vehicles pull into a pump, checks for unpaid fuel records, and alerts staff if found. In cases of fuel theft, the system automatically generates a report, enabling businesses to track and recover outstanding payments. Industry concern is growing, with one in ten gas stations implementing Scancam having done so in the past two months. The system has reportedly helped fuel retailers recover 2 million Australian dollars in outstanding payments in the last quarter alone.
