Major Fire Breaks Out in Gorakhpur, India, Clothing Stores Affected; No Casualties Reported
Fire Eruption and Containment Efforts
A severe fire broke out in the Raiganj area of Gorakhpur city, India, completely destroying several clothing stores. Immediately after the fire was reported, fire authorities were alerted, and Gorakhpur City Senior Superintendent of Police, Avinash Tyagi, announced that an immediate firefighting operation had commenced. Approximately 10 to 15 fire trucks were deployed to the scene, continuously dousing the flames. Initial reports confirm that all individuals trapped at the fire site were safely rescued, and as of now, no casualties have been reported.
Damage Status and Containment Outlook
The fire left clothes and goods inside the stores charred and blackened, and the scene was filled with dense smoke. Authorities took measures to prevent further damage, including evacuating residents from adjacent homes to safety to contain the fire's spread. SSP Tyagi added that the fire is gradually being brought under control and is expected to be fully extinguished soon. An investigation into the exact cause of the fire is currently underway.
