Vehicle Crashes into White House Security Gate
Around 6:30 AM on Wednesday, a man drove a vehicle into an outer security gate of the White House in Washington D.C. The Secret Service stated that the man was driving a van when he crashed into the gate on the north side of the President's residence. Immediately after the incident, officers from the Secret Service Uniformed Division apprehended the driver, who is now under investigation. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident, and the suspect's identity has not yet been released.
Heightened Security Measures and Background
Following the incident, the area around the White House was cordoned off, and traffic on several nearby roads was blocked. The bomb squad was dispatched to the scene and searched the vehicle's interior, but no explosives were found. Criminal charges are expected to be filed against the driver. This incident is the latest in a series of crashes at White House gates in recent years. This comes as the U.S. Capitol is under heightened security measures due to the ongoing war involving the United States and Israel against Iran.
