Pop Star Rihanna's Home Shot At, Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced that Ivana Lisette Ortiz (35, of Orlando, Florida) has been charged in connection with firing shots at pop star Rihanna's Los Angeles home. District Attorney Nathan Hochman stated that around 1:20 PM on March 8, Ortiz approached Rihanna's residence and fired multiple shots from a semi-automatic weapon.
Charges Against 10 Victims, Possible Life Sentence
The charges filed include one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and three counts of shooting into an inhabited dwelling or camper. At the time of the shooting, a total of eight individuals were present at Rihanna's home, including Rihanna herself, her partner, three children, mother, and two employees. Additionally, two people residing in a nearby home were also targeted by Ortiz's gunfire.
Legal Proceedings and Bail Set
Ortiz has pleaded 'not guilty' to all charges. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The court has set her bail at $1,875,000. The trial proceedings are set to continue.
